 VISIT

Wrights hill public works department and Army camp. Campbell St looking towards Messines Rd and Wellington harbor. 1950's
  Wrights Hill Reserve, where the Fortress is situated, is well worth a visit because of its grand 360 degree views from the summit, good bush walks and picnic spots.

 HOW TO GET THERE

 
  • Be in Wellington, New Zealand
  • Travel along Karori Road
  • Turn left into Campbell Street, just before the Karori Mall
  • Travel along Campbell Street to Wrights Hill Road, the last road on the right
  • Come up Wrights Hill Road to the top car park
  • There is plenty of parking space
  • The Fortress entrance is on the same level as the car park

  • Waitangi Day, February 6
  • ANZAC Day, April 25
  • Queens Birthday, June (first Monday)
  • Labour Day, October (third Monday)
  • December Open Day, December 28
On open days the fortress hours are 10am - 4pm.
(Hours extended to 5pm for ANZAC Day, 25 April 2004)

Moderate admission charges help with ongoing restoration:
Adults: $5, children under 15: $3, Family pass: $15 (up to 2 adults, 3 children).

Private tours by arrangement, any day of the week, depending on availability. Private functions available also.
